The Sacrament of Confirmation fills us with the gifts of the Holy Spirit so that we may be strengthened as disciples.

Due to Archbishop Lori’s recent mandate lowering the age of Confirmation to 9 years old (4th grade), we will be making major changes to the Confirmation program at Sacred Heart starting this Fall. As in the past we have submitted several possible Confirmation Mass dates to the Archdiocese. We will notify all families as soon as dates are confirmed.

Students in the 9th Grade will be required to attend a 6-8 week sessions starting in the Fall 2025 in preparation to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation tentatively set for November 2025. 

Our 7th and 8th grade students enrolled in our Religious Education program will pause using the Finding God 7th and 8th grade books and begin using Confirmation  preparation materials  in February. Weekly preparation will continue through April with their catechists.  The Sacrament of Confirmation is tentatively set for May 2026.

In spring of 2027, we will prepare 6th and 7th graders, and 4th and 5th graders in the spring of 2028.  Please note that this plan is subject to change, depending on the total number of those seeking to be confirmed each year. if you have any questions please contact us at the Parish Office.
