You've probably heard plenty about the new
Synod on Synodality. Pope Francis is asking the Church universal—every diocese and parish, every bishop and priest and professed religious and lay member of Christ’s body—to engage in a two-year-long dialogue regarding ways forward for the Church in mission.
The Church has for centuries understood that through synods—assemblies of the faithful journeying together toward Christ—new pathways for evangelization and Christian witness to the truth are often discovered. And now Pope Francis is asking the Church to reflect on how these very assemblies might or might not help us to revitalize our preaching of the Gospel to the peoples of the world.
That's getting right to the point in not so many words, but there is so much more to say about the road ahead! Join Fr. Brendan on
Thursday, November 4 at 7:30 PM in the Little Church for a presentation on what Pope Francis is asking the Church to do with this new Synod—and how we can best understand the
Synod on Synodality in light of the Church's history and tradition.
