The Best Years Group welcomes adults who are 55 years of age or older without regard to religious affiliation, sex, racial or ethnic heritage, or place of residence. Members may be single, married, divorced, widows, widowers, or religious. Spouses who are less than 55 years of age may be members. Dues are $5 per member per year.
The Best Years Group was formed to bring adults together to share activities and interests and to keep members informed of current events pertaining to citizens within our age range. The group addresses the needs of the whole person in body, mind, and spirit! Our activities focus on "Friendship, Communication, and Service." They encompass spirituality, recreation and social programs, health and welfare, education, culture, and service to the Church and community (48,480 volunteer hours from 2007 — August 2019).
In normal non-COVID times, wee meet on the first Wednesday of the month at 7:00 PM from September to June. The agendas include business matters, speakers, refreshments, pot-luck suppers, and recreational activities. Planned activities include Mass and breakfast, lunches, plays, baseball games, tours, bus trips, picnics, seasonal revelry, and volunteer service.

Family Fellowship at Sacred Heart is a dynamic ministry that provides our parishioners the opportunity to come together with their children to express their faith and celebrate family. Our activities include:
Open gym nights
Halloween trick-or-treat and dance
St. Patrick's Day party
Children's Stations of the Cross
Mardi Gras pancake supper
Christmas movie party
In addition to the fun and games, guest speakers inform and enrich our parents, giving them information on topics ranging from technology awareness to managing the stress of being a mother. Childcare is provided for those events geared toward parents, and it is more than babysitting as the children learn about Saints and do arts and crafts that correspond to the liturgical calendar. The activities offered are featured at varying times and dates, and they are designed to give families with children of all ages an opportunity to participate.
All Family Fellowship activities (with the exception of the Halloween trick or treat dance) are offered at no cost, and they are run by a team of volunteers. If you are interested in joining the committee, please contact us!
We'll have our newest list of Family Fellowship dates and activities available once things settle down with COVID-19!

The Legion of Mary is a lay Catholic association whose members are giving service to the Church, on a voluntary basis, all over the world. It was founded in Dublin, Ireland on September 7, 1921 by Frank Duff. At present, it has about 10 million members in over 191 countries. The official handbook of the Legion has been published in at least 50 languages.
At Sacred Heart, we have two groups. In normal non-COVID times, the Spanish group meets every Sunday at 11:00 AM in Room 105. The English group meets every Saturday at 9:00 AM in Room 105.
Q: What is the purpose of the Legion of Mary?
A: The primary purpose is to lead people to Jesus Christ so they can benefit from the love and mercy of God. Specifically, the Legion of Mary seeks to lead the people we encounter in our works to a greater knowledge and faith in God and to increase the faith and holiness of our own members through prayer and service to Our Lord.
Q: Who is eligible to join?
A: The Legion of Mary is open to all Catholics in good standing with a desire to serve Our Lord Jesus Christ through the intercession of his Blessed Mother Mary. Catholics 18 years of age or older can join adult praesidia, whereas Catholics younger than 18 years of age can join junior Legion of Mary praesidia. Catholics interested in joining the Legion will start with a three or six month probationary period before taking their Legionary Promise to become Legion members.

The Life in the Spirit Prayer Group offers a weekly opportunity to praise and worship God. The focus is on the work of a personal relationship with Jesus. Our prayer takes the form of joyful songs, personal praise, relating times when Jesus was obviously present in our lives, and a period of listening to what God has for us to hear.
You're invited to join the group to learn how the Holy Spirit can become a greater part of your life!

The purpose of Sacred Heart Sodality is to foster devotion to Mary, the Mother of Christ. In normal non-COVID times, we meet on the third Friday of each month (from September to May) for 9:00 AM Mass in the Little Church followed by our meeting in Room 105, beginning with recitation of the Rosary.
Members of the Sodality are active in many other aspects of parish life. They are Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, Greeters, and members of Liturgy Committee, Best Years, and Catholic Scripture Study. Membership is now about 30 and is open to all women who want to join!
The Sodality provides the Baptismal bibs for all babies baptized at Sacred Heart.
When requested, we lead the Rosary at wake services.
At Christmas time, we select an organization or group to help where needed.
During the year, our main fundraiser is the St. Patrick's Day Card Party and Luncheon.
We also have a "Tea" in May. Proceeds from these events support our various projects within and beyond our parish boundaries.
